Stage 1: Mittenwald - Sölden
|Distance:||115,37 km||Altitude difference:||2.472 Hm||Level:|
|Passes:||Buchener Höhe, Kühtai|
A starting stage as it should be, neither too difficult nor too easy so you won't be tempted to spend the next six days rolling on one cheek. As a warm-up the route leads through the plateau of Leutasch surrounded by massive mountains and soon the pace speeds up downwards to the Inntal. Several kilometers later the ascent begins in Kematen to the first indicator of the Transalp race 2014, the Kühtai. On 1400 meters altitude difference ascent some not to be underestimated ramps await you. From the pass the route goes swiftly in about 2000 meters downward to the Ötztal. But the last 40 kilometers from Oetz to Sölden are not an easygoing rolling, because the road leads you continuously upward.
